Spencer the Cocker Spaniel-Patterdale Cross: A Ball-Loving Star at Coombe Abbey

Meet Spencer, a two-year-old Cocker Spaniel-Patterdale cross with boundless energy and a serious obsession—with his ball! I recently had the pleasure of photographing this playful pup at Coombe Abbey, where we turned a simple game of fetch into a stunning photoshoot.

A Photoshoot Fueled by Play

From the moment Spencer arrived, it was clear that his ball was his world. Whether he was chasing it, carrying it, or waiting eagerly for the next throw, his focus never wavered. This gave me the perfect opportunity to capture some dynamic action shots, freezing moments of pure joy as he leaped and dashed through the grass.

Can’t Wait for the Big Reveal

Spencer’s owner hasn’t seen the photos yet, but I can’t wait to share them. With his expressive eyes, boundless enthusiasm, and undeniable charm, I’m sure they’ll love how his personality shines through in every shot.

A Special Quiet Moment

While most of the session was full of energy, one particular shot stood out. After an intense round of play, Spencer finally lay down to rest—just for a moment. As he lifted his head, the soft light hit him just right, creating a beautifully peaceful portrait. It was a reminder that even the most playful dogs have their calm and soulful moments, too.
